Serving suggestion

Add 1 to 5 heaped tsp of Maca to juices, smoothie or cereals 1 or 2 times a day. Maca has a distinctive malt like flavour. Some people like eating it straight as it is by the spoonful.

Dosage

Loving Earth's agave is grown by the Aztecs in the Ixmiquilpan region of Mexico. Agave is central to their culture and they have been cultivating it for thousands of years. Our Organic, wild-crafted Agave Syrup is a delicious, low glycemic index (GI) sweetener that tastes somewhere between honey and maple syrup. Dark agave has a rich vanilla-like aroma and deep wild flavour. Light Agave syrup is filtered and has a neutral sweet flavour.

Nutritional qualities

Minimally processed agave provides vitamins, minerals and enzymes that are not found in other processed sweeteners. Our unfiltered Dark Agave syrup has a wide spectrum of minerals and phytonutrients

The main form of carbohydrate in agave syrup is a complex form of fructose called inulin or fructan. This is absorbed slowly into the bloodstream giving it a low glycemic index and is therefore diabetic friendly. It is also the perfect sweetener for children as it does not significantly raise blood sugar levels, preventing the highs and lows associated with sugar intake and instead provides a sustained, steady source of energy.

Processing

Our agave nectar is derived from the Wild Maguey (Agave Salminae). The Ixmiquilpan indigenous growers association hand harvest our nectar. One cactus can produce as much as 2 liters of juice a day. Juice is collected twice daily, and one cactus can continue producing juice for up to three months!

Our juice is concentrated into syrup through vacuum evaporation. This lowers moisture content, preventing fermentation. Low temperature evaporation, no higher than 40 degrees celsius, maintains the agave's nutritive qualities. Loving Earth Coconut Butter The reason we call our coconut oil, Coconut Butter is because its texture is creamier and more buttery than other coconut oils. The coconuts are husked and immediately pressed onsite at the processing facility. We then use "wet method" centrifuge extraction to extract this creamy butter. It is raw, light tasting and smooth. We have sourced our Coconut Butter from a family plantation in Manzanillo, Mexico.

What is Wet method Centrifuge extraction?

Wet milling or wet method extraction involves expeller pressing the flesh of fresh coconuts into a pulp, forming a coconut milk emulsion. The processing temperature is kept below 25 degrees to maintain the nutritive quality of the butter. The coconut milk emulsion is then chilled to approximately 10 degrees. Cooling the emulsion weakens the protein bonds assisting the oil and water to separate during centrifugation. This process allows for greater oil quality and yield.

Health Benefits

Coconut butter is known for its Lauric acid content, and for its quality, healthy saturated fats. Cholesterol does not naturally occur in the plant kingdom. Unlike saturated animal fats, Coconut oil is cholesterol free, making it safe for people with cholesterol challenges. Lauric acid promotes immune function through its transformation into monolaurin once ingested. Studies show that Monolaurin is able to destroy lipid coated viruses and bacteria including influenza, herpes and HIV.

Weight Loss

Medium Chain triglycerides (MCT's) are abundantly found in coconut butter. Unlike other forms of fat, the liver is able to metabolise MCT's similarly to how it utilises carbohydrates as a fuel source. Coconut butter's digestibility means that it is quickly absorbed by our bodies, and not left to circulate the blood stream like other fats. The MCT's in coconut oil have also been shown to have thyroid supporting mechanisms. Studies that were conducted on the basal (resting) metabolic rate of people who ate MCT's comparative to those participants who consumed more LCT's (long chain triglycerides i.e. vegetable oils) were found on average to have a 12% increase in their basal metabolic rates.

Cellular Health
