bliss-ballsMore great healthy kids snacks. These soft delicious bliss balls are packed with protein, super foods, EFAs and good fats.  They will get you through the 3 pm lull and you won’t be hungry again in half an hour  like some snacks.

I make a batch on the weekend to get me through the week- mostly the kids steal them and we eat them all in about 3 days. I dont mind, they’re simple to make.  Grind up the sunflower seeds and the linseed in a coffee grinder first till they are a fine meal.  If you cant then use LSA from the health food shop instead.  A coffee grinder is well worth buying. You can grind seeds and nuts for an instant “flour” to add to dishes both raw and not. I use mine everyday.

Recipe:

1 cup almond meal

1/2 cup sunflowerseeds (grind first)

1/2 cup linseed (grind first)

1/2 cup sesame seeds

1/2 cup cashews

1/2 cup walnuts

1/2 cup hemp meal (if you leave it out just add a bit more nuts)

1/2 cup fine dessicated coconut

1/2 cup cranberries

1/2 cup currents

1/4 cup goji berries

3 dessert spoons Maca

3/4 cup raw honey or agave

3/4 cup tahini

In the food processor put all the dry ingredients and process for a couple of minutes.

Now add the last 2 sticky ingredients and process until all mixed- about 4 minutes.

The mixture should press together nicely and can be rolled into balls. You could roll it in coconut or dust with raw cacao for a bitter sweet truffle like ball.

The maca is a great for energy and balancing hormones and completely safe for children. Hoping to put some on this site so you can easily buy it.

If you cant find Hemp meal email me and I will help you find some.
