Almond Milk

Whether you have given up the dubious goodness of cow juice or you just wish to induge in the divine yummyness of nut milk then a fab start is making your own almond milk.

Please use raw almonds at a ratio of about 1 cup of almond to 3 cups of water.

Dont worry about taking the skins off, the milk will be as white as you could want it with the skins on and you have saved all that precious time that you can now spend on pampering yourself or a nice lie down and a cup of tea.

Place almonds and water in your blender and ummm blend until smooth

strain through a nutmilk bag, muslin cloth, or any fine strainer.

You may want to sweeten the ‘milk’ with stevia, honey or agave and perhaps add just the tiniest bit of salt. It is of course entirely up to you.

Please keep the almond pulp in the refrigerator for another recipe and use in place of almond meal.

Variations include adding raw cacao and agave- full of chocolatey goodness. Or what about blending with some vanilla and gently warming it?

Use as a base for creamy rich milky smoothies, add berries and blend.
